It’s been so long since I’ve seen people. A year now I’ve been on Derris-Kharlan, guarding it from absolutely nothing. I’m used to being alone. It is my punishment, and my duty.

Yet, somehow, I’m just not there anymore. I’ve been re-introduced to the world, and the people in it. But these people… they’re strange. All of them. I can sense it… this is not Sylvarant. Or Tethe’alla. Or whatever the new world has been named. This place is… different. Like its inhabitants.

They, too, seem confused at their being here. I must not be the only one to have been torn away from my world, then. I can sense great power in some, a few even rivaling or surpassing my own strength. Yet some are just normal human beings. However, even they have something different about them, whether it be combat skills or intelligence or something else. I’m fairly certain I sensed an elf somewhere as well.

This place, this mansion, also seems to radiate power. There is something special about it. It must be what drew me here, what drew us here. Why, I’m still not sure. Perhaps some of the others know something.

Whether they do or not, seeing people is a refreshing sight. And from what I’ve gathered so far, there is no leaving. So, I might as well sit back and enjoy for now. But only for now.

After all… my duty to stay with Derris-Kharlan remains.
